Terms & Conditions

Submissions

  • Entries open on Tuesday, 1 July 2025 and must be submitted using the entry form available on the website. Emailed entries will not be accepted.
  • Images must be high resolution (min 300 dpi) in JPEG format.
  • Entries must be received by Northern Midlands Council by Tuesday 30 September 2025.
  • Each participant may submit a maximum of 3 entries.

Terms & Conditions

  • The promoter of this competition is Northern Midlands Council (ABN 70 695 934 223).
  • Entry is open to all residents of Tasmania.
  • Prizes
    • First Prize: $500 cash.
    • Junior Prize: $250 cash.
  • To be eligible for the Junior category, the entrant must be under the age of 18 years (as of the 1st of January 2025).
  • Images must be taken within the Northern Midlands region. Entries featuring images from outside these areas will not be accepted. View Map Area.
  • Each entry must comply with these Terms & Conditions. By entering the competition, participants agree to be bound by them.
  • The competition opens at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, 1 July 2025 and closes at midnight on Tuesday 30 September 2025. Entries received after this deadline will be deemed invalid.
  • Copyright remains with the photographer/entrant.
  • All entries may be used to promote the Northern Midlands Council and its municipality.
  • If an image features an identifiable person, the entrant is responsible for obtaining their permission. Northern Midlands Council does not require model release forms with entries.
  • All photographs entered must be made with a camera. No synthetic or artificially generated images are allowed, and no use of artificially generative-fill is allowed. Any use of these tools will automatically disqualify the entry from the contest.
  • By entering the competition, entrants grant Northern Midlands Council permission to use their images for not-for-profit purposes, including the website, social media channels, other online platforms, marketing materials, and media publications where applicable. Image credits will be provided where possible.
  • Winners will be selected by a judging panel consisting of one Northern Midlands Council staff member or councillor and two independent judges. The judges' decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Prize distribution is at the discretion of Northern Midlands Council. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
  • Winners will be notified via email on Friday, 31 October 2025 and announced on Northern Midlands Council social media channels and other media.
  • If an image is used for general Northern Midlands Council media purposes (e.g. accompanying a media story), credit will be provided where possible. However, Northern Midlands Council cannot guarantee that image credit will always be published.
  • Entrants will not receive any monetary compensation for their submissions. (Unless you win!)
